Sustainability Strategy
Elddis have won a number of regional and national Environment and CSR Reports. Sustainability has been at the core of our business for many years. We continue to look at all aspect of our operations to reduce our impact on the environment and embrace the latest technologies to assist this. In recent years this has included:
- Renewable Biomass Heating installation in our Head office and Vehicle workshops
- Investment in low energy lighting across all sites
- Early adoption of the Long Semi Trailer trial for specific operations
- Development of bespoke vehicles and trailers to maximise utilisation for our customers
- Ongoing investment in full time driver trainers to ensure the most efficient operation of our fleet
- Significant investment in IT solutions that allow us to monitor all aspects of our operation to help us reduce our environmental impact
- Car fleet is now 100% electric or electric plug-in hybrid
- Latest van replacement is 100% electric
- Trials have taken place with a fully electric distribution vehicle and further EV HGV trails are scheduled in the next few months including a fully electric tractor unit trial.
Solar Investment
The latest major project has been the installation of large Solar Arrays on 4 of our buildings. To ensure we maximise the benefit of the power we produce we have instigated a program to replace any gas-powered fork trucks with electric versions. 50% of our fork truck fleet will be 100% electric early in Q2 this year.
